A Quiet Retreat in Neuilly-sur-Seine: Katz Studio & Silvera

In the heart of Neuilly-sur-Seine, Katz Studio, in collaboration with Silvera, has designed a private apartment conceived as a sanctuary. This high-end residential design project was created for a music enthusiast, and the challenge was to translate a strong artistic sensibility into a cohesive, immersive, and sustainable interior, without ever compromising on the comfort or functionality of the living spaces.

To design an interior that is not merely beautiful, but also authentic. Each space had to serve specific purposes while embodying a strong brand identity — that of an occupant whose aesthetic and musical sensibilities inform every choice. Subdued lighting, fine materials, an enveloping atmosphere: the design had to embody a way of life as much as it did organize a living space.

The living room is designed around a dialogue of statement pieces. The Connect sofa by Muuto and the La Mamma Up 50 armchair designed by Gaetano Pesce for B&B Italia structure the space with flexibility and character, while the Elda armchair by Joe Colombo for Longhi and the Méribel stool by Charlotte Perriand, produced by Cassina, reinforce a bold, assertive aesthetic.

Wood, stone, raw steel, and textiles — materials that interact harmoniously through designer furniture chosen to highlight them, without ever obscuring or competing with them. A simple, essential, and masterful interpretation.

The kitchen extends this design language. The marble table pairs with Eero Saarinen’s iconic Tulip Chair , produced by Knoll, to create a warm, sculptural, and timeless space. The Tractor Barstool by Bassam Fellows complete the ensemble with understated elegance, combining artisanal craftsmanship with formal simplicity. The Hashira pendant light by Audo Copenhagen casts a soft, fabric-like glow, echoing the project’s materiality.

Silvera worked with Katz Studio to select key pieces — professional-grade furniture chosen for its ability to complement the project’s premium materials and meet the functional requirements of each space. The result is a high-end apartment where aesthetic coherence, comfort, and identity come together room by room. An interior that does not merely adorn the space, but reveals its volumes, materials, and uses—conceived as an experience as much as a living space.
